Elmer E. Streeter II: 2010 Outstanding Achievement Award

With more than 30 years in the business,
Elmer E. Streeter II has changed the face of health care marketing in the Tech Valley Region by being a pioneer in direct-to-consumer, healthcare marketing. No longer do patients rely on their physicians to decide what hospital to go to. More and more, patients are telling their doctors where they want to go for great hospital care. In fact, now - more than any time in history - health care systems are promoting and advertising their services direct to consumers. Elmer’s pioneering vision and leadership in this arena has helped transform healthcare marketing in the Tech Valley Region.

In addition to his numerous professional accomplishments, Elmer has devoted substantial time and energy to helping the community. He was a founding member of Albany’s Ronald McDonald House. Streeter was also a co-founder of “Melodies of Christmas” in 1980, a successful and durable holiday show that has raised more than $5 million for the child cancer program at Albany Medical Center. Streeter has also been a member of the Junior Achievement Board and chairman of the Tech Valley Business Hall of Fame. He is also a member of the boards of Clearview Center and the American Cancer Society.

Furthermore, Elmer’s skillful public relations strategy has helped the institutions for which he has worked. Elmer has a reputation of a professional who understands how to pitch a story and how to answer questions with integrity when crisis communications are required. He has earned widespread respect and admiration for his sustained excellence in advertising, marketing, public relations and crisis communications.

Congratulations, Elmer. Your vision, spirit and accomplishments show that you are an innovator and a leader and much-deserving of this award.
