Name change signals new direction for local digital printing company

ROCHESTER, NY, Sept 2015—After 14 years as part of a nationwide franchise of digital printing companies, a Rochester firm leaves the franchise and changes its name to Pixos Print™.

The new name defines a new direction for the printing company, which has been in business since 2001.

“The umbrella company provided us with the tools we needed to learn the business, getting us off to a great start,” said Ron Bittner, co-owner of Pixos Print™ with his brother, Mike Bittner. “As we grew, however, we realized that a national franchise allocates its resources for the benefit of the national system—in other words, for the good of the average franchisee. We were consistently a top franchisee, so we often wanted to offer things to our clients in the Rochester area that would benefit our customers—but the resources to do this were not available to us. It was time to take control of our own growth.”

Focusing primarily on business customers, the company added equipment and services over the last decade, and restructured its facility to concentrate on full-color, quick-turn printing. Clients include large corporations and institutions as well as many clients in clinical research and healthcare, real estate, manufacturing, technology, and a wide range of smaller companies and non-profit organizations.

Today Pixos Print™ has 18 employees, a number of whom bring more than 30 years of industry experience to the company. In addition, many employees bring clients a fresh perspective, born of their familiarity with the flexibility and versatility of digital printing.

Pixos Print™ also offers expanded online ordering, using its proprietary Pixos Anytime web portal. The service offers customers the ability to store files, make text changes, and order materials online 24/7.

About the new name

Pixos Print™ is a combination of two concepts, explained Mike Bittner. “We bring our customers the technical expertise they need in a top-quality digital printer—that’s the “Pixels” part of our name.
