Ballston Spa Marketing Firm Celebrates 5 Years of Serving Local Small Businesses

Prolific Marketing recently celebrated 5 years in business as family, friends and clients gathered for a BBQ at its office located on Washington Street in the Village of Ballston Spa’s arts district known as “Art Alley”.

“We are really proud to be here, as a small business serving other small businesses,” said Dan Barner, Founder of Prolific Marketing. “It’s a true joy to be able to apply our creative passion to helping business owners who are following their own passions.”

Barner started Prolific Marketing at the age of 21, a fresh graduate of The College of Saint Rose, from his apartment living room.

“I wasn’t a seasoned marketing executive who had a book of contacts that I could call to build our client roster,” said Barner. “Our first clients included my previous employer, a family friend, and a colleague of a college professor. From there it was knocking on doors, attending networking events, and getting really pumped up when it worked. We have also been fortunate to receive a lot of great referrals from our existing clients over the years.”

To date, Barner estimates Prolific Marketing has served over 175 businesses and organizations spanning a wide variety of industries. In addition to working directly with small businesses, Prolific Marketing produces work for other marketing firms.

“It’s an interesting dynamic,” said Barner. “We are able to help other marketing companies meet the needs of their clients when their in-house resources are at full capacity.”

When looking towards the future, Barner doesn’t see the Madison Avenue office expansion some might expect a marketing professional to aim for.
“We want to stay right here in Ballston Spa, serving small businesses. I didn’t start this company to run to a big city and chase Fortune 500 clients (we’ll take their calls, though). I started it to help small business owners improve their marketing efforts, and that is what we will continue to do.”

Plus, you simply can’t sit on your office’s front porch and have a BBQ with your family, friends and clients on Madison Avenue.
