Travelers on New York’s stretch of I-81 now have a definitive resource for “Where to stop when you’re on the go,” with the launch of the http://81exits.com mobile
A tourism initiative funded by Empire State Development, 81exits.com uses geolocation technology to target travelers and suggest gas, food, lodging and attractions available just off upcoming exits. Users simply enter http://81exits.com into their mobile browsers to begin the experience.
ABC Creative Group developed 81exits.com and will handle a promotional campaign, including materials at visitor centers and rest stops as well as a printed companion to the website. ABC Creative will target Web ads at key demographics in Canada and Pennsylvania.
The project encourages through-travelers to explore – and stay in – communities throughout central and northern New York state, from Binghamton to Alexandria Bay.
Broome, Cortland, Onondaga, Oswego and Jefferson counties collaborated on 81exits.com with ABC providing all creative and project management, including assurance all state grant requirements are met.
