DeBergerac Creates Music Video for Band Mrs. Skannotto |

DeBergerac Productions was selected to produce and direct a music video for the alternative ska-rock band Mrs. Skannotto. Mrs. Skannotto releases “Outlier” — its latest and fifth full-length album — on Tuesday, April 1, on the literal eve of a new national tour. Created while the six members were taking a victory lap following two years of national touring, they have crossed the finish line with overflowing creative energy and a musical depth that comes only when experience and passion are this deeply rooted. The video for the title track of the album also will be unveiled on April 1, and can be viewed via the www.MrsSka.com Web site or the band’s YouTube channel.
About the video
How do you visualize something called “The Outlier”? Although Mrs. Skannotto had produced other videos of their live performances, “The Outlier” is the first time the band took their visual presence to the next level with multiple staged shoots and special effects photography. Mrs. Skannotto approached DeBergerac Productions who handled the entire video production. DeBergerac has several award-winning music videos to their credit, but none were anything like the alternative-ska sound of Mrs. Skannotto. “I wanted to capture the energy I felt in their live performance without losing that image of the loner observing the world” says Brian Steblen, Director of Photography. In the video, each member of the band becomes an “Outlier”: “We sat with the band and brainstormed the most crazy events we could think of.” Many Rochester winter events were featured including the RIT “Big Shot”, an Amerks game at Blue Cross Arena, even the Polar Plunge in Lake Ontario. “We are grateful for the opportunity to work with a creative team like these guys. They really pushed us creatively and I think it shows in the video.”
