Campus Auxiliary Services, known simply as CAS, is a not-for-profit company dedicated to serving the SUNY Geneseo campus. SUNY Geneseo is a premier public liberal arts college, consistently ranked high in US News & World Report and Kiplinger's for being a "best value" and offering outstanding educational value. We are passionate about Geneseo - the community, the college, and the individuals that make up the campus. We provide several nonacademic services to SUNY Geneseo. While most known for our self-operated restaurant & café program, we also provide catering, laundry, cable, vending, bookstore, ID, refuse & recycling and fiscal agent services. On-Campus Restaurants and Café’s is our largest division. Together, our service and in-house support team consisting of Human Resources, Finance & Accounting, Facilities, Marketing, Supply Chain and IT take care of the members of the campus community so that they can focus on why they're here - academics. CAS has operations in 6 locations on campus which include retail, payone-price and national brand (Starbucks) concepts. During the academic year, operations run almost 24/7. The Senior Graphic Designer is responsible for developing, designing, and executing creative materials that reflect our brand and support growth strategies, while adhering to Campus Auxiliary Services and SUNY Geneseo brand guidelines. This position drives the creative direction of the company, and oversees, guides, and develops the graphic designer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Build and maintain brand consistency throughout all CAS, the Big Tree Inn, and Bronze Bear Creative and SUNY Geneseo projects.
Oversee all design projects, from conception to delivery for print, digital, and multimedia for CAS, the Big Tree Inn and Bronze Bear Creative.
Enhances and executes original ideas, graphic concepts, and designs that achieve overall product and branding strategies.
Effectively designs and implements restaurant and café menus, promotions, and specials through various mediums including FourWinds Interactive (digital signs), website and print.
Consult with partners on all aspects of projects, including planning, content, layout, turnaround time, corrections, approvals, and project estimates.
Supports Marketing Director in developing promotional campaigns and ideas outside of visual communication.
Confidently provides direction to junior designer’s projects, inspiring them, and upholding high standards of quality and brand guideline adherence.
Demonstrates creative problem-solving skills and strong artistic design, color and typography sensibilities in all media
Lead resource for software design programs and procedures.
Research, negotiates, and works with outside vendors and agencies.
Performs other duties as assigned

FSLA STATUS: Exempt
SALARY RANGE: $45,000 - $56,000
BENEFITS: Medical, dental, vision, life Insurance, daily meal allowance, Parking, 401K – After 1 year 100% match up to 6%, After 5 years 100% match up to 10%
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, marketing, advertising, related field or comparable experience.
Must have portfolio of prior work
Minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience in creative design/creative marketing with broad experience.
Demonstrated creative expertise in a broad array of areas including multi-channel campaigns, print and digital advertising, signage and displays, and digital content design
Strong communication skills, ability to, delegate, and coach to ensure effective execution the CAS Marketing team and SUNY Geneseo clients
Experience working and managing projects with outside vendors and agencies
Exceptional aesthetic sense and intuitive understanding of design principles
Proactive in nature and driven to act with a sense of urgency; able to work well under pressure and with demanding deadlines
Creative thinker with advanced experience using Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere, and AfterEffects, as well as the Microsoft Suite.
Experience with content display software. Knowledge of FourWinds Interactive, preferred.
Experience with Drupal and social media platforms.
Proven ability to bring each project from initial concept to finished product.
Demonstrates advanced knowledge of technical graphic designs skills including typography, layout, branding, photography and videography.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to delegate and coach to ensure effective execution internally, third-party partners and agencies.
