A fully operational Scenic Painting Studio, Cobalt Studios specializes in Painting Scenic Backdrops, Scrims, and Translucencies of any design on any fabric, both opaque and translucent. We also paint hard scenery, flats, other set pieces and props in partnership with set construction shops. We produce murals, sculpture, and signwork.

Our Artisans are also skilled in decorative painting including floorcloths, faux-finishing, marbleizing, woodgraining and trompe l'oeil. If your project can't be painted in our studio we can send a crew to your location.

We offer a two year Scenic Artist Training Program which is ideal for a student who is intent on becoming a Scenic Artist or for Design Students or Designers that want to become proficient scenic painters. This program offers the balance of technical skill-building, classwork and valuable portfolio-building apprenticeship-style training.
