2010 NORI Awards Judges' Bios
Bob Abbate is the President of Bob Abbate Marketing- BAM. A veteran of agency, retail, and media management, Bob’s experience on the client side, the media side, and the agency side of the table gives him a unique insight into the media buying and creative processes.
Heather Beckel is the managing director at I&O Communications, a full-service marketing firm based in Austin, Texas. Her clients include Daimler’s car sharing program car2go, the Texas horse racing industry, Zio sports apparel for kids, and The National Arbor Day Foundation. Heather Beckel brings more than 15 years of political, public affairs, and b2b/b2c marketing experience to I&O clients, and is an expert at creating cohesive marketing campaigns that bridge all sectors of message development, including branding. Beckel has a particular specialization in marketing for luxury consumer brands at retail.
Intimate knowledge of every aspect of film and video production makes Emulsion Arts’ John Disher an accomplished editor and story-teller. John is a multiple Emmy Award nominee for his directing and editing work on “Laugh At us”, an original Emulsion Arts documentary that is airing nationally on PBS.
Audrey Julienne’s company, Raison D’Etre, helps companies and brands navigate the marketing, advertising and promotion seas. Experience on the agency side as well as marketing management for a $20million brand provides RDE Marketing with experience in sides of the prism: brand identity, packaging and merchandising, media-purchase, web design and on-line promotions, print, TV and radio productions, direct marketing, public relations.
Bill Klingensmith is Principal and Creative Optimist for the design studio, “MYDARNDEST”, in the South Wedge of Rochester, New York. He works collaboratively with his clients in Rochester and St. Louis, MO. His primary client work is with the food industry. Klingensmith taught at the Rochester Institute of Technology for five years (‘02-’07), where he was an Assistant Professor of graphic design. Since leaving academia and starting his studio, he has taken over as President of AIGA upstate New York.
Jake Lefebure is a co-founding partner and creative director of Washington, DC’s award winning firm Design Army. As the principal project leader, Jake oversees new business and creative development for all of his studio’s clients. It’s hard to imagine a design publication or award that hasn’t honored Design Army over the last couple of years. Most recently Design Army took home an incredible 30 ADDY’s at the Advertising Club of Metropolitan Washington’s 2010 ADDY Awards.
You won’t find “t-shirt model” on the resume of Mig Reyes, but when Threadless needs to show off a new design even the Interactive Designer gets the call. Mig’s work and efforts have been recognized with the likes of: Adobe, AIGA, CMYK, Grain Edit, Print, Rockport, Smashing Magazine and Swiss Miss. Mig is the creator and host of humblepied.com.
