A Call for Small, Fine Ceramic Works of Art

Rochester, NY   Region

(ROCHESTER, NY – July 24, 2017) Flower City Arts Center is issuing a call for
small ceramic works of art. The second annual Good Things…come in small
packages exhibition will be November 10 through December 21, 2017. The
deadline for application is September 8, 2017. All works submitted must be
smaller than 8x8x8 inches. Applications can be submitted online at
www.rochesterarts.org/good-things.

The juror this year is Tim See, a New York state ceramicist, who has created an imaginary world that he brings to life with his objects—like the industrial oils cans, illustrated vessels and sculptural machinery. Using the clay, underglazes, stains, and wood-firing See builds up patinas of wear and a story of usage.

The Firehouse Gallery is located at 713 Monroe Ave., Rochester, NY 14607. The opening reception and sale, and gallery hours are free and open to the public.

About Tim See
Tim See is a ceramic artist from Syracuse, New York. His work has been shown at the Smithsonian, the Everson, the Memorial Art Gallery, and Baltimore Clayworks, among others. Tim teaches at ClayScapes Pottery, Inc, and at workshops and schools across the northeast. He is a founding member of the Independent Potters Association, whose participants collaborate on group exhibits, charitable events, and an annual high school ceramics competition called Feats of Clay. Tim's You Tube channel, TimSee you tube, has over 92 educational videos, 13,000 subscribers, and over 2 million views. Tim lives with his wife Brenda Pierce, and cat Viggo, in Bridgeport New York.
