3 Days. Dozens of Films. 1,000s of Film Lovers.
The Rochester International Film Festival is one of the world's longest running short (<30 min.) film festivals. Since 1959, our event has been produced and presented by the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Movies On A Shoestring, Inc. Each Spring we screen dozens of films at no cost to attendees for near-capacity crowds at the Dryden Theatre at George Eastman Museum.
Voted City's "Best Local Film Festival" time and again!
The shorts we screen are submitted by filmmakers from all corners at all career levels and represent diverse cultures/worldviews. Genres: animation, comedy, drama, documentary, etc. If you're a filmmaker, submit to us! If you're an advertiser, snag a page in our keepsake print program. Screened films are awarded our distinctive Shoestring Trophy.
