BUFFALO, NEW YORK-- Mark Wisz and Jill Wisz, co-owners of OtherWisz Creative Corporation, an advertising and design firm specializing in identity design and website development, announced today that their firm has designed and developed a special 40th anniversary exhibit of Buffalo Sabres memorabilia with items on loan from the Buffalo Hockey Experience + Museum (BHE+M).
“To commemorate their 40th year in the NHL, the Buffalo Sabres asked the Buffalo Hockey Experience + Museum to display a portion of it’s collection in HSBC Arena,” stated Mark Wisz. “As the agency of record for BHE+M, OtherWisz Creative was the perfect assist to design the exhibit highlighting some of the memorable moments in Buffalo hockey history.”
“We designed the installation on the theme of shared experiences” stated Jill Wisz, “With the exhibit flanking the 2nd floor atrium, its location allowed us to focus on how fans share hockey history, often together in a social context.” “The storyline was developed with choice pieces of memorabilia from the BHE+M collection such as a rare Tim Horton home jersey from 1974 as well as items from the legendary Soviet Series game against the Russians in 1976,” added Mark. “Besides designing, installing and writing the vignettes for the display cases, we’ve curated the accompanying wall cases, presenting some of the trophies awarded over the past 40 years,” stated Jill, “Chronologically presenting some of the events and people who shaped the last 40 years of Buffalo hockey with facts and memorabilia offers opportunities for fans to say ‘I was there!’ and ‘Remember that?’, creating a memorable experience for the casual or dedicated hockey fan alike.”
This 40th Anniversary exhibit will be on display for the opening home game against the New York Rangers on October 9th. The installation is located on the second floor mezzanine in HSBC Arena and runs throughout the 2010-11 Buffalo Sabres hockey season.
