SKM GROUP SOLD TO FORMER RADIO EXECUTIVE

Depew, N.Y. – Larry Robb, former General Manager and Vice President at Entercom Buffalo, LLC, has acquired SKM Group, a full-service marketing communications agency located in Depew, N.Y., effective immediately. His title will be CEO at SKM Group. Susan K. Meany, who founded the company in 1986, will remain as President. Robb and Meany have no plans to alter SKM Group’s staff.
“I felt that after 26 years as President, it was time to bring in a new perspective,” said Meany. “Larry’s experience in building brands and creating marketing solutions, along with his hands-on knowledge of local and national media, was a perfect fit. Larry’s career focus of developing long-term business relationships by generating a superior return on investment for his clients falls directly in line with SKM Group’s mission and goals.”
“I’m very excited about working with the extremely talented and knowledgeable team at SKM Group and helping them continue the great work they do for their clients,” said Robb.
Meany will continue to split her time between SKM Group’s Buffalo-area and Florida offices and will focus on the agency’s new business development and client retention, while Robb will oversee the day-to-day aspects of running the agency.
“From a client and employee standpoint, nothing has changed,” said Meany. “Larry and I don’t want to alter the fantastic chemistry, both internally and externally, we’ve worked so hard to create and nurture. I am, however, looking forward to beginning this new phase of SKM Group and helping our clients achieve even greater success,” said Meany.
Meany felt it was important to keep SKM Group locally owned and based in Western New York. This local ownership and operations has allowed SKM Group to be competitive in both the national and local markets, as well as invest in the area through job creation and charitable efforts.
Robb had been in his position at Entercom, which locally comprises of seven radio stations, for 12 years prior to resigning last week. He is a Western New York native and strong supporter of local causes and nonprofits. He serves on the Board of Directors for Kaleida’s Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo (WCHOB) and is the President of the Board of the SPCA serving Erie County. While at Entercom, Robb initiated three radio-a-thons, which over the past 10 years have raised almost $10 million combined for WCHOB, SPCA and Hunter’s Hope Foundation.
