Emmy® Award-Winning Producer Forges her Own Road with a Documentary Concept Inspired by the Iconic Jeep® Wagoneer

Fairport, NY Rochester NY Region

After falling in love with, and walking away from, her “Dream Car” while living in Seattle, freelance TV producer Katie Sullivan channeled her passion for a Jeep® Grand Wagoneer into the premise of a full-length documentary.

As the daughter of an avid model car collector, and the grand-daughter of a former automotive industry employee, it’s safe to say that an appreciation for automobiles runs in her family.

“What I love about the early Wagoneer,” says Katie “is its versatility. Classic print advertisements cleverly played up its multiple personalities. It was a car that earned respect in any setting – in any situation. Many people identify with this vehicle and have a personal story to share.”

After relocating back to Rochester to be closer to family, Katie brought her concept celebrating the history, evolution, and resurgence of the Wagoneer to the adventurous crew at DeBergerac Productions, Inc.

“When Katie first suggested this project to us, we didn’t hesitate to partner with her,” said Mike Champlin, DeBergerac’s Co-Owner. “Her passion won us over. The vision she has brought to the table will make for a great show, and we are so fortunate to be a part of it.”

Katie is thrilled to have enlisted the expertise of Mr. Leon Miller, A.K.A. the “Wagonmaster” in this project. The start of the New Year will mark his 20th anniversary in the Grand Wagoneer “renewal” business. Mr. Miller has given new life to nearly 1,600 vehicles. The on-screen Wagonmaster restoration of a 1991 Final Edition Grand Wagoneer will be featured as an integral part of the documentary. (wagonmaster.com)

Currently in the research and development phases of its documentary about the Jeep® Wagoneer, the creative team at DeBergerac Productions, Inc. devised a fundraising platform (fillthewaggy.com) with a theme most people can relate to in today’s economy.

“Fill the Waggy was developed so that Katie would have a grassroots viral way for Wagoneer lovers to show their support for her project,” says Joy Parker, DeBergerac’s Social Media Consultant. “With gas prices being what they are, it’s fitting that people can “chip in” for gas. Whether they donate four dollars to cover the cost of a gallon, pay for a whole tank, or decide to contribute more, people can help Katie fill the Waggy on their own terms. We can all relate to feeling pain at the pump!”
