Healthcare marketing specialists, Smith & Jones, announced today its receipt of a 2013 Bronze Telly Award for the Ellis Medicine Oncology long form web video, “Shelly.”
This video features an unscripted, moving interview with the mother of a pediatric cancer patient at Ellis Medicine, Shelly Shinebarger. In it, she explains how beneficial it was to the entire family to have excellent cancer care so close to home.
Telly Award-winners are selected from more than 13,000 entries submitted each year by advertising agencies, production companies, TV stations, cable companies and interactive agencies around the world. This competition honors the finest film and video productions, web commercials, videos and films, and local, regional and cable commercials and programs.
The purpose of this web video was to inform the community that they don’t need to leave home to receive quality cancer care. Shelly shares in her interview that while her daughter, Kristen, received year-long treatment for Ewing’s Sarcoma, their family was able to stay together and her daughter received personal care and attention.
“Recognition from an international organization such as the Telly Awards is an honor,” said Mark Shipley, President and Chief Strategic Officer of Smith & Jones, “but what I find the most rewarding is meeting patients like Shelly and Kristen and being able to share their stories with the community.”
Shelly and Kristen were featured in the hospital system’s 2012 oncology campaign, One2One Conversations, in a :30 TV spot, posters, online display and print advertisements. This long-form web video was featured on Ellis’ website along with other cancer survivors and oncologists.
