Medical System Promotes Hospitalist Program for Women and Babies |

“Obstetrics is inherently a dangerous situation,” said Dr. Susan Dantoni, an OB/GYN Hospitalist at Ellis Medicine’s Bellevue Woman’s Center, “and having a OB hospitalist who specializes in handling OB emergencies, it simply reduces the risks to the moms and the babies.”
Bellevue Woman’s Center is the only facility in the Capital District that offers an OB hospitalist program, providing a sense of security and comfort for expectant mothers. Ellis Medicine communicates this message in its 2013 maternity marketing campaign, created by healthcare marketing specialists Smith & Jones, that launched this month.
“In 2010, Bellevue Hospital decided to start an OB/Hospitalist program,” said Dr. Dantoni. “We provide 24 hour a day, 7 day a week, 365 days a year in-house coverage for labor and delivery.”
The campaign features Marion Horan, the mother of two young boys from Saratoga Springs, New York. She recently benefited from the hospitalist program during the birth of her second son. Marion shares the story of how she was only in Bellevue Woman’s Center for two minutes before Theodore was born.
“Theodore’s delivery came so fast that my obstetrician didn’t have time to make it, but Bellevue had someone that could take care of me,” said Marion. “They have a hospital care person on staff all the time to take care of me; that’s so comforting to know.”
Marion is featured in online advertising, long-form web video, television spots, print, posters and transit advertising.
