Corporate Communications Firm Wins Gold in International Creative Awards Competition |

Bartel Communications, Inc., was a Gold Award winner in the Hermes Creative Awards 2008 competition. The firm competed in the Integrated Marketing category with its entry “Service Branding and Marketing: The Bartel Way™ and ‘The Bartel Years™.’” The Bartel Way™ is an integrated marketing and public relations strategy for positioning products and services within the context of celebrating a corporate anniversary. “The Bartel Years™” is a roster of corporate anniversary symbols used to inspire a century of corporate anniversary celebrations.
The Hermes Creative Awards is an international competition for creative professionals involved in the concept, writing and design of traditional and emerging media. The Gold Award is presented to those entries judged to exceed the high standards of the industry norm. Sponsored by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, the Hermes Creative Awards 2008 competition attracted 4,000 entries from throughout the United States and several other countries. Approximately 18% of the entries received the Gold Award.
Bartel’s entry for the Hermes Creative Awards included a case study that demonstrated how the firm used The Bartel Way™ and “The Bartel Years™” for a corporate-anniversary client. The firm created the image campaign for The Chamber of Southern Saratoga County’s 40th Anniversary celebration in 2007 and the branding message, “Marking 40 Years of Passion, Endurance, Loyalty, Strength.” The yearlong campaign featured events, including the 40th Anniversary Awards Dinner; promotions; print, broadcast and Internet media coverage.
The success of the 40th Anniversary campaign prompted the Chamber to submit two entries for the American Chamber of Commerce Executives’ (ACCE) 24th Annual Awards for Communication Excellence (ACE) in 2008. Each entry won the Award of Merit. The 40th Anniversary Awards Dinner ranked in the Top 20 of the Special Events category. The 40th Anniversary Image Campaign ranked in the Top 10 of the Image Campaign category.
The Awards for Communications Excellence (ACE) is an annual competition that recognizes excellence in all areas of Chamber of Commerce communications. The Award of Merit is given for a campaign entry that “meets and exceeds the fundamental standards and criteria for communications excellence.”
The Awards of Merit are the Chamber’s first national awards. The Chamber will be recognized during the ACCE Convention 2008 that will be held from July 30 to August 2, 2008 in Pittsburg, PA.
