Special Recognition: CONCEPT & ILLUSTRATION
This campaign for the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra was very clever, clean, and well-designed. The illustrations were very eye-catching and communicated the idea in a simple way without going overboard. We especially liked the way the creatives incorporated this very strong concept with all the different residual requirements. Note cards, posters, programs, etc. The headlines were also given special recognition for being especially strong. Nice work!

Special Recognition: DIRECT MAIL
While most “gifts that keep on giving” are highly undesirable, the Gold Dog holiday tag direct mail piece was quite the opposite, and left the RAF judges to strategize how to get on Gold Dog’s mailing list for the 2010 holiday season. This brilliantly simple execution is “analog viral marketing” at its finest, serving up Gold Dog’s clever personality, functional capability, and creative potential to both the package’s recipient… and its recipient’s recipient. Well done. [oh, and fyi: it’s 1904 west dickens, not east. thanks!]

Special Recognition: DESIGN
"ROC City Roller Derby’s “Heart/Boobies” poster was a highly praised piece at this year’s Addys. It shows great use of graphic imagery and typography working together to create one bold and stopping poster. The clever graphic image provides a simple, powerful message about the teams as well as the event’s cause. This message is further strengthened by the use of bold, organized type and white space. All of these elements come together to create one killer-designed poster."
